TENERGY19

A shape
designed by reason

Allocating pimples with smaller diameter densely—
this is the answer obtained by accumulating research results.

The special pimple shape results in a top sheet which does not easily yield to the opponent’s attack. By combining this newly developed top sheet with Spring Sponge, increased power and sense of holding, a feature of the Tenergy series, are achieved. Tenergy 19 gives a high performance not only for active but also for passive shots against strong returns.

Now, it’s in your hand to realize your full potential with Tenergy 19.

Densely allocated pimples with a smaller diameter

Code no. 219’s pimple shape1), used in Tenergy 19, features 1.5 mm pimples which are slightly thinner than other Tenergy series’ and are allocated as densely as the rule allows. The shape is chosen from “the shapes that enhance the rubber’s spin and speed performance” which Butterfly patented2).

1) A pimple shape consists of multiple elements such as its diameter, height, or distance between pimples

2) Patented in Japan (No. 6738472)

Thin pimples to unite the powers

Numerous tests have demonstrated that the Tenergy 19 using the no. 219 pimple shape, exhibits high spin and speed performance, especially when hit hard.

Why does this shape enhance the performance of the rubber? Let’s have a closer look, focusing on the moment when the ball digs into the rubber and bounces back.

Ball digging into sponge

Thin pimples such as no. 219 depress and flatten more easily. Therefore, when the ball hits the rubber, the ball does not slip on the rubber but digs into it. The rubber “holds” the ball in place.

Ball bouncing back

The power pushing the ball back against the rubber is generated by each pimple in contact with the sponge. In the case of No. 219, which has thinner pimples, though the power that each pimple pushes back is small, the number of pimples that push the ball back increases because the pimples are densely allocated. As a result, the more power is united, and thus it does not easily yield to the opponent’s strong shots.

This mechanism generates a top sheet where a ball will not slip on the rubber nor easily yield to the opponent’s strong shots. This is the key to bringing high performance to the rubber.

Spring Sponge

Combination with Spring Sponge creates a grippy rubber

Combination with Spring Sponge creates a grippy rubber

Spring Sponge, introduced in 2008, is revolutionary in terms of successfully combining flexibility and high elasticity, and the crucial technology responsible for bringing high performance to the Tenergy series.
We managed to enhance the touch of “holding the ball” more by combining Spring Sponge and the top sheet with development code no. 219’s pimple shape. Since the ball is more likely to fly in the direction of racket swing, it demonstrates its strength most when playing counter topspin or banana flicks.

Improved ease of power topspin, counter topspin and short plays

Improved ease of power topspin, counter topspin and short plays

The unique top sheet makes it easier to play powerful topspins. Furthermore, thanks to improvement of the grip, the rubber becomes more suited for a banana flick and counter topspin.

* The results are simply a guide and do not guarantee the performance of each rubber.
* Results are similar, regardless of the thickness of the sponge.

Nearly the same weight with 05

Nearly the same weight with 05

Tenergy 19 is almost the same weight as Tenergy 05 and is lighter than Tenergy 05 Hard. “19” would be a good option for players seeking a faster swing speed through reduced total weight of the racket.

  • Innerforce Layer ZLC

    Rotation-oriented play with power

    • The blade creates the stability of the shot, and the rubber generates power. This combination makes it possible to play powerful shots with a high trajectory.
    • The racket supports players who seek the rotation-oriented play with power at a variable distance.

    All-round play

    • This combination helps with all-round play with fewer weak points, whilst still providing enough power for the game.
    • Tenergy 19 has both good spin and speed and is therefore suited for a modern, powerful and offensive style which makes full use of both the banana flick and counter topspin.

New shapes
created through R&D

Even after the release of the Tenergy with four different pimple shapes, Butterfly's Research and Development Department has been working on prototypes for new pimple shapes. Everything they did was in order to create high-performance rubbers to meet the various needs of players.
During the years of trial and error, the methods and accuracy of rubber performance measurement have improved. We have completed the Tenergy 19 by combining the Spring Sponge with no. 219, which has been proven to have high performance through objective measurement. “19” debuts as a member of the Tenergy series, which has produced many achievements in table tennis.
Even after releasing Tenergy 19 we will still strive to find more shapes. We believe that we will be able to keep developing new shapes that players are seeking, potentially in forms no one has ever imagined before. We will do this by building upon our knowledge through continuous research and development.
