Make the pimples shorter — much shorter.
Ricosheet, a revolution in rubber design
By drastically reducing pimple height and increasing density, Ricosheet redefines the rubber structure to unlock explosive speed and spin, delivering greater power* in every shot.
*Power here refers to the combined energy of speed and spin.
Patented: Japan Patent No. 7428448
Short-profile pimples,
drawing out the peak performance
in speed and spin
With smaller gaps between the top sheet base and sponge, impact energy from the ball is transferred more efficiently to the sponge. The pimples are less prone to excessive deformation, which helps minimize energy loss upon impact.

The surface of the sheet deforms less, increasing the contact area between the ball and the rubber. This enhances grip and overall rubber performance.
Pimple shape
with the development code No. 303
Built on a sheet base with thickness comparable to Dignics 05,
Ricosheet technology combines an array of pimples
that are significantly shorter and more densely packed than in previous designs.
Developed under code no. 303, this pimple shape* is characterized by significantly smaller diameters and maximum legal density, allowing the short-profile pimples to function to their full potential — delivering exceptional grip, improved spin generation, and enhanced energy efficiency for even more powerful shots.
*Pimple shape: Composed of elements such as diameter, height, and the spacing between pimples.
Short-profile pimples also contribute to durability
-
Significantly improved surface strength against strong impacts
Thanks to the densely packed short-profile pimple structure, even when the pimples collapse under impact, the surface is less likely to tear. This leads to a significant increase in the durability against strong impacts. Butterfly’s in-house tests show that Zyre 03 achieves approximately 40%* higher surface strength compared to Dignics 05. Even when the racket hits the table, the rubber is much less prone to damage.
*Based on Butterfly’s in-house rubber strength test, in which extremely strong impacts — far beyond what occurs in actual play — are repeatedly applied to the same surface area until visible tearing occurs.

Durability maintained with high resistance to abrasion
With the same formulation used in Dignics 05, the resistance to abrasion is kept at the same level*. It holds the ball more on the surface thanks to a unique formulation which enhances flexibility without losing elasticity.
*Judged by the unique endurance test results of rubbers conducted by Butterfly.

Optimized rebound with an extra-thick sponge
paired with a thin top sheet

By shortening the pimples, the top sheet was made thinner. To compensate, the sponge was made thicker*, ensuring optimal rebound performance. The thick sponge reduces energy loss by limiting ball deformation on impact, delivering a more solid and powerful shot.
*With a 2.5 sponge in Zyre 03, total rubber thickness is equivalent to the former 1.9 type. With a 2.7 sponge, it matches the former 2.1 type.
Extra-thick and hard sponge,
without the extra weight
Zyre 03 features a design that combines a thinner top sheet (which tends to be denser and heavier) with a thicker sponge (made of aerated rubber material, which is less dense). As a result, the overall rubber maintains relatively low hardness and tends to be lighter in weight. In fact, Zyre 03 with a sponge of 2.7 is only about 1 gram heavier* than Dignics 05 (2.1), and roughly 2 grams lighter than Dignics 09C (2.1). This helps prevent a decrease in swing speed due to excess rubber weight, while also preserving flexibility in blade combinations.
*Weight measured before trimming into racket shape. Actual weight may vary slightly due to manufacturing differences.

A new experience of soft feel and quiet sound — from the next generation of rubber
Due to the refined pimple profile and a higher sponge-to-sheet ratio, energy loss during impact is reduced. This allows the player’s swing energy to be transferred into the ball more efficiently.
As a result, Zyre 03 offers a softer feel compared to conventional rubbers with the same sponge hardness, along with a quieter hitting sound — creating a pleasant hitting experience unique to the new generation of rubber.
Spring Sponge X:
Grips the ball and fires it back

Equipped with the same high-performance sponge found in the Dignics series, now in Deep Red. This sponge combines two seemingly contradictory characteristics; high deformation and high rebound, which makes it possible to firmly grip the ball before releasing it, generating both explosive spin and speed. It’s a truly top-tier sponge for players chasing high-level performance.
